1950 Olive Parking Garage

Saint Louis, Missouri

This multi-level parking garage is part of the Downtown West neighborhood of St. Louis, MO. The area is currently undergoing a renaissance, converting under-utilized property that formerly served as a highway off-ramp into a dynamic sports-focused district whose anchor is the new CITYPARK Stadium for the St. Louis CITY SC. The garage is an extension of the energy of the Stadium District, an infrastructural element that becomes a civic space.

The parking garage will support visitors to the district on game day and citizens who work in the district throughout the year. It will provide vehicular and bike parking for fans coming to games and local businesses. Within the parking garage, there is secure bike parking, a bike repair station, and electric vehicle charging stations. Its approximately 163,000 gross square feet will have one level at grade and three elevated levels and accommodate nearly 500 cars.

On the main level, a series of bi-fold doors open to a plaza facing the stadium, creating a multi-use space for events or pop-up retail. A processional stair travels up the south side of the building, encouraging active movement and providing panoramic views. The parking garage is enclosed by a durable and recyclable stainless-steel fabric, which screens the structure while still allowing transparency and natural ventilation around it. There are adjacent rain gardens and planting areas for native and pollinator-friendly plants. Designed to complement the stadium and district, the garage will serve practical needs as well as delight visitors.
