Located in remote northern Minnesota, the Delta’s Iron Range Customer Engagement Center (IRC) is one of the top-performing facilities among seven in the United States. The 443 employees at the center handle premium sales accounts, with a 15% to 20% headcount growth anticipated in the next 2-4 years. Central to the redesign of the Customer Engagement Center was the improvement of the work experience, with the business goal of attracting and retaining highly productive employees. The design achieves this in two distinct ways: one, by offering a powerful connection to the culture and identity of its unique place; and two, through forward looking office planning. Compact, height adjustable benching workstations create space for a variety of collaborative work spaces. Exposed ceilings, natural daylight and views to the exterior enhance spaces of work and relaxation with an enlarged and enhanced fitness center, work café and lounge.
