Constructed in Minneapolis’ Historic Mill District, the Humboldt Mill and Annex assembles traditional materials with rigorous detailing, providing light filled spaces and panoramic views. The project combines new condominium construction with a fragile historic mill building brick shell. Three levels of parking, two above grade, are concealed by retail on the first floor and residences on the second. Residences complete the upper floors. The top floor is divided between a penthouse and it’s terrace, a common terrace and private enclosed rooftop spaces. The design creates spacious homes embedded in the life of the city, offering panoramic views toward the city, the river, into the surrounding mill structures and across the plaza toward the new Guthrie Theater.
