Illume Candles Manufacturing + Tenant Improvements

Illume is a tenant improvement project that consolidates the candle manufacturing company’s corporate headquarters and production facilities under one roof. The quickly-expanding business required a sophisticated corporate headquarters and highly efficient production facilities. Illume not only manufactures candles, but also designs and markets its merchandise and packaging. Spaces specific to the company’s internal processes include a laboratory, “Burn Room”, H-3 (hazardous materials) storage room, fragrance storage, and scent evaluation booths, as well as a range of spaces to support their creative brand and strategy work. Within the corporate headquarters, a straightforward layout of private offices flanks a large open office area and shared workspace with high ceilings and natural daylight. A simple black and white palette, with accents of clear maple millwork at the kitchenettes and open stair, provides a neutral background for ever-changing seasonal candle displays.
