The Jackson Street Roundhouse is an historic railroad roundhouse located in St. Paul’s industrial shops district. This renovated facility will serve as both a working shop and working museum for the MTM Railroad Division. These two functions are interwoven to create a unique educational experience. The completed facility will allow the public to observe and interact with the shop activities, view various railroad artifacts and equipment, and explore the museum’s interactive displays and exhibits. In addition, the Jackson Street Roundhouse will be connected to St. Paul’s cultural corridor of museums and historic places by a working public railroad line with stops throughout the city, creating a major historical and cultural center for the railroad heritage of the Midwest.
