The new workplace for McCann Minneapolis at 510 Marquette in the heart of downtown offers a powerful urban space with coffered ceilings, city views, a penthouse and roof deck space. All systems were reinserted without obscuring the power of the original structure. The transformed workplace created a fluid work environment in which collaboration is evident in its many forms. The space was conceived with the idea of fluidity and the diffuse vaporous light quality evident in the raw space. White-washed masonry walls and concrete floors are complemented with the use of glass, pale soaped oak and a light diffusing brushed stainless steel. The design became a powerful, yet restrained frame for the agency’s energy and creative production.
